UTSA staff recognized at Women's Chamber awards event
(Jan. 23, 2002)--UTSA was well represented at last week's San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce annual awards presentation and installation of new board members, held at the Plaza Club.
College of Education and Human Development Dean Blandina Cardenas was recognized with the chamber's Community Champion of the Year award, while UTSA graduate Linda Rivas, currently president of SER Jobs for Progress, was named Corporate Woman of the Year.
Rose Marie Galindo, provost's office, was sworn in as a board member for 2002.
More than two dozen Tri-Campus community members were on hand for the ceremonies, including Provost Guy Bailey and members of the provost's office staff; Dean of Engineering Zorica Pantic-Tanner; Vice Provost for UTSA Downtown Campus Jesse Zapata; Executive Director of Institutional Diversity Margaret Anderson; and several faculty members.
