Photo Gallery: Graduates, family, friends celebrate La Despedida
(May 14, 2002)--Friends and family joined UTSA graduates and faculty for La Despedida/Farewell ceremonies held Saturday evening at the Downtown Campus following Saturday's official spring commencement ceremonies earlier in the day.
Master of Ceremonies Rodolfo Rosales introduced each participant and
read a message of thanks from each. UTSA alumna Marisol Perez, now
an immigration attorney, was the guest keynote speaker. New alumni Rita
Castillo, Brenda Pena, Ernesto M. Rocha and Anita Cisneros
also spoke. The was the seventh year for the La Despedida celebration.
