Academic enrichment summer camps offered at Downtown Campus
(May 2, 2002)--Four academic enrichment camps for fourth and fifth graders will be offered at the University of Texas at San Antonio Downtown Campus this summer.
Conducted by the UTSA Office of K-16 Initiatives and Honors College, each camp will last two weeks and will be 9 a.m.- noon Monday-Friday. The cost is $100 per camp, and students can register for all or as many of the camps as they desire.
Camp topics and dates are: "Science Wonders: Bugs, Weather and Physics," June 10-21; "Math Marvels: Crazy Numbers and Special Shapes," June 24-July 5 (no session on July 4); "Sea Life: Mysteries of the Sea," July 8-19; and "Creative Adventures: Writing Poetry, Short Stories, Interviews and Music," July 22-Aug. 2.
Students will also compile a portfolio of their summer experience. All materials will be provided.
The registration deadline for all camps in May 24. Space is limited, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
