Peter T. Flawn Professorships: Jerome P. Keating and G.V.S. Raju
(May 6, 2002)--President Ricardo Romo this year created a new award
for UTSA faculty honoring Peter Flawn, a longtime, distinguished member
of the UT System family. A friend and mentor to Romo, Flawn was president
of UTSA during 1973-77 and twice served as president of UT Austin.
In bestowing the inaugural Peter T. Flawn Professorships at the 2002 Faculty
Honors Convocation to Jerome P. Keating and G.V.S. Raju, Romo
commended them for epitomizing, as does Flawn, the "best qualities of
the UT System and higher education in Texas."
