UTSA adjusted summer hours begin May 13
(May 10, 2002)--UTSA will again adopt a modified, four-and-one-half-day summer workweek that will impact most operations. Effective May 13-Aug. 16, the hours of operation for the 1604 and Downtown campuses will be 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7:30-11:30 a.m. Friday.
The Institute of Texan Cultures, the Institute for Economic Development and the offices of the Urban Systemic Program at Alamo Stadium will remain on a regular schedule. Offices that provide critical services and/or have administrative responsibilities must be staffed each weekday during the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. time period, in addition to observing the summer-hours schedule.
Offices/services that will remain open on the 1604 and Downtown campuses until 5 p.m. Fridays, using skeleton-crew coverage in the afternoon, are:
--all offices within the division of student affairs, including the enrollment
services center, admissions, registrar, financial aid, new student admissions
and the visitor center;
--college deans,
--college advising centers,
--graduate studies,
--K-16 and Honors College,
--research development,
--executive offices located in the John Peace Library Building,
--vice provost for UTSA Downtown Campus,
--business manager,
--fiscal services,
--university advancement and public affairs,
--human resources and
--purchasing.
The UTSA libraries and student computer laboratories at both campuses will operate on regular or extended-hour schedules to meet student demand once summer classes begin. These services should not be curtailed while classes are in session.
In keeping with the university's effort to curtail energy use, thermostats
in most campus buildings will be raised two to three degrees for utility savings.
