Artworks by UTSA professor reflect times of her life

(Nov. 6, 2002)--Works by Leticia Huerta, UTSA professor of art, are on exhibit in Durango Building Room 1.122 at the Downtown Campus.

The art pieces, some of which took two years to create, are paintings imbedded with clocks and photographs. Both the patterns of the painting and the imbedded objects remind the artist of her childhood.

"An important aspect of my work is the sense of labor involved in creating it," said Huerta. "I am using construction materials that I have had an interest in since childhood."

The exhibit is open 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 10 a.m.-noon Friday. For more information, call (210) 458-2815.
