Fiscal services announces Spring 2003 recreation fee increase

(Nov. 4, 2002)--The fiscal services offices announces an amendment to the UTSA spring 2003 tuition and fees schedule, printed on Page 24 of the "Schedule of Classes and Registration Instructions."

Beginning with the Spring 2003 semester and with the projected Jan. 15 opening of the new recreation/wellness center, the recreation center fee will increase from $1 per credit hour to $5 per credit hour. The fee cap will remain $30 maximum, for students taking six credit hours and above.

All registered students at UTSA will have access to the new wellness/recreation center. Facilities available to registered students will include a gymnasium with wood floor (two full basketball courts or four volleyball courts), locker facilities, two racquetball courts, a 4,000-square-foot weight area and a 3,700-square-foot cardio area.

When classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters, facilities will be available 6 a.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday; 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; and noon-midnight Sunday. Summer, holiday and intersession hours will be announced.

Questions about the increase should be directed to fiscal services, (210) 458-8000.
