Nobel winner to speak at Oct. 12 science conference
(Oct. 4, 2002)--UTSA, the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the Harlandale Independent School District welcome Nobel Laureate Leon Lederman for a presentation at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at McCollum High School, 500 W. Formosa.
The presentation, "The Role of Science Education in the 21st Century," is part of the Science Education for the New Century Science Conference and Forum taking place 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The seminar and luncheon will give the business community the opportunity to engage in dialogue with educators and administrators about science education in today's schools.
Sponsors for the event include San Antonio Teachers Credit Union, OnBoard Software, Rudy's BBQ, Marriott Riverwalk Hotel, La Mansion del Rio Hotel and the San Antonio Symphony.
Cost of the conference is $10 with a Wednesday, Oct. 9 registration deadline.
