UTSA College of Business begins first doctoral program

(Sept. 16, 2002)-- Eighteen students have been selected as candidates in the first doctoral program in business administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business.

Concentrations are available in accounting, information technology, finance and organization and management studies. Accounting students include Brian Daugherty, Katherine Lopez, Ramon Rodriguez, Juan Sanchez and Wayne Tervo. Students majoring in finance are Paramita Bandyopadhyay, James Hackard, Ju Xiang and Sinan Yildirim.

Information technology candidates are Art Conklin, Barbara Hewitt, Alex McLeod and Sriraman Ramachandran. Finally, students majoring in organization and management studies include Craig Armstrong, LaKami Baker, Tammy Beck, Robert Griffith and Stephanie Thomas.

The College of Business doctoral program in business administration prepares students for successful careers performing teaching, research and service as faculty members in business schools. This full-time integrated program of coursework, colloquia, research and writing is rich in theoretical knowledge and methodological skill development.

UTSA’s College of Business is accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation with more than 4,800 enrolled. The College of Business is the third largest provider of Hispanic business undergraduates in the nation.
