Josephine Mendez-Negrete
Faculty member honored by 'Diez y Seis' commission
(Sept. 5, 2002)--Josephine Mendez-Negrete, assistant professor of bicultural-bilingual studies and Mexican American studies, is one of four citizens chosen this year for Community Recognition Awards by the San Antonio 16 de Septiembre Commission.
The awards, which will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 in the City Council Chambers at the Municipal Plaza Building, acknowledge recipients' dedication to community involvement, cultural awareness and education.
Mendez-Negrete is being honored for her achievements in cultural awareness.
