UTSA receives two donations from Lo Bello de San Antonio

(April 7, 2003)--University of Texas at San Antonio President Ricardo Romo recently received two monetary gifts to UTSA from Lo Bello de San Antonio, a non-profit group of business and professional women.

The first gift of $10,000 benefits scholarship recipients of the Lo Bello program. The second gift of $2,000 benefits the School of Architecture, soon to be located in its entirety at the UTSA Downtown Campus.

"The women of Lo Bello work very hard to raise funds for various charitable causes within the community, and UTSA is privileged to be one of the recipients of their generosity," said Sonia Martinez, UTSA executive director of development. "It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to say 'thank you' in person to some of the members of this outstanding organization."

Since 1996, Lo Bello has donated over $40,000 to UTSA students through the program. The purpose of the organization is to raise funds that are distributed to the community through their annual fundraising event, "Noche Tropical."
