
New food coming to the Marketplace, formerly the Bistro
All new UTSA food service areas to open Aug. 25
(Aug. 13, 2003)--Renovations to all UTSA food service areas continue as a roll-out of new concepts and menus approaches. As of Aug. 1, University Food Services is operated by Chartwells College & University Dining Services.
According to Corinne Vela-Zapata, director of UTSA business services, the openings of all new UTSA dining areas were postponed until Monday, Aug. 25, due to delays in shipping equipment.
The University Center and John Peace Library Building and Bistro dining areas at the 1604 Campus and the Downtown Campus food court will be open for operation August 25.
Chartwells will be open with limited service 7:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m. through Aug. 22 at the Downtown Campus food court and will begin regular hours with new food service 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning Aug. 25.
The John Peace Library Building food court will continue limited service 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. through Aug 22.
"We also encourage the UTSA community to take advantage of the new catering services offered by University Food Services," said Vela-Zapata. For more information, call Business Services at 210-458-4970.
The new Marketplace, formerly known as the Bistro, will feature Sandella's specialty gourmet sandwiches and pizza served on flat bread; Coupe De Licious Chicken including fried chicken, nuggets, planks and rotisserie varieties with hot and cold side orders including fries, mashed potatoes, corn, corn bread, beans and cole slaw; Au Bon Pain gourmet soups; Krispy Kreme doughnuts; Starbucks coffee; and Outtakes grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and wraps. The Marketplace is located on the first floor of the Business Building on the 1604 Campus.
The Downtown Campus food court will feature Mr. B's hot and cold sandwiches and wraps; Fresh Grill hamburgers, chicken, fish and veggie sandwiches; Trattoria pizzas and calzones; Newman's Own Pasta; Ortega Nacho Bar; Bent Fork Potato Bar; Sabrett's hot dogs and toppings; Double Treat Bakery with fresh pastries and baked goods; Ratazza regular and flavored coffees; and Outtakes.
The Radisson Hotel has extended the hours of its Downtown Campus snack bar, located across from the food court. The hours during new food service construction are 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m-1:30 p.m., Friday.
