
Vincent Dimartino
Memorial service for faculty member scheduled for March 3
(Feb. 28, 2003)--Vincent DiMartino, UTSA adjunct faculty member in economics and finance, passed away Wednesday evening. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 2 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough. A memorial service will be held at the mortuary at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3. There will not be a graveside service.
DiMartino taught at UTSA since 1987. He earned the President's Distinguished Achievement Award in Recognition of Teaching Excellence 2000-2001. A demanding instructor, he was known for his generosity and dedication to the university.
An advocate of team learning and problem-based learning approaches, DiMartino was a faculty associate for the UTSA Teaching and Learning Center. He taught core curriculum undergraduate courses, managerial economics for graduate students and supervised internship students and independent study.
He was adviser to the student chapter of the Financial Management Association and the Turkish Student Association. DiMartino taught Freshman Seminar, was a faculty mentor and a finance and economics tutor in the Executive MBA program.
DiMartino earned an MBA from UTSA in 1979.
