UTSA Staff Excellence Awards to recognize service, performance
(Feb. 21, 2003)--The Staff Excellence Awards nomination process is well underway, but there is still time before the March 12 deadline to send in nominations. UTSA staff members will be honored for dedicated years of service to the university and five staff members will receive special recognition at the Staff Excellence/Service Awards ceremony at 3 p.m. April 15 in the University Center Laurel Room (2.01.28).
Now is the time to nominate those shining UTSA stars from across the Tri-Campus
community who consistently show a can-do attitude and go the extra mile to
provide service with a smile. They are the ones who take initiative and do
what needs to be done without being told. The awards are a wonderful way to
pay tribute to the valued UTSA employees.
UTSA staff members are urged to nominate candidates for five Staff Excellence Awards recognizing excellent work performance in emerging leadership, dynamic leadership, teamwork, extraordinary initiative and overall excellence.
The nomination deadline is Wednesday, March 12. Download the Staff Excellence Awards nomination form and award descriptions (Microsoft Word format).
"I have been most impressed with the outstanding, dedicated staff at UTSA, and am pleased to be able to recognize their contributions to UTSA through the Staff Excellence Awards program," said President Ricardo Romo. "I encourage you to nominate those staff members who you believe are deserving of this recognition and honor."
The five Staff Excellence Awards are:
- Rising Star Award
- Leadership Award
- Team Spirit Award
- Extra-Mile Award
- Order of the Roadrunner Award
See descriptions of the awards below.
President Romo will make the final selection of award recipients. A monetary award of $1,000 will accompany each Staff Excellence Award.
