
UTSA biology student receives Cancer Federation Award
(Jan. 2, 2003)--UTSA graduate Monique Garcia was recently awarded the Cancer Federation Award for outstanding achievement in biology.

"I think for all the hard work students do, it's nice to get recognition and have others proud of our accomplishments," said Garcia.
Garcia earned a bachelor of science degree last month and will start graduate school at UTSA this spring. A native of San Antonio, she plans to attend dental school and later pursue a doctoral degree in cellular and structural biology.
