Students hit the court at new Recreation and Wellness Center
(Jan. 14, 2003)--Dedication ceremonies were held Monday for the new UTSA Recreation and Wellness Center and Child Development Center, as many students were discovering and utilizing the extensive facilities.
Pictured above, intramural teams try out a new basketball court. The $20 million student-approved and -funded project is located on the south side of the 1604 Campus.
The 65,945 square foot Recreation Center, includes basketball/volleyball courts, racquetball/wallyball courts, more than 10,000 square feet of fitness space, interactive cooking classes, cardiovascular equipment, weight room, group exercise rooms and student lounge areas.
Student Health Center expanded services including exam rooms, triage room, laboratory, pharmacy, classroom and administrator and care provider offices. The 11,200 square foot Child Development Center has the capacity for more than 100 infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers.
