(Jan. 22, 2003)--Pictured at right, a parent and child try out the playground equipment at the new Child Development Center on the UTSA 1604 Campus. The center's dedication ceremony was last week, followed by an open house.

In an an environment rich in opportunities and learning experiences, the center provides a quality early educational experience for nearly 100 infants, toddlers and preschoolers of parents in the UTSA community.

Teachers at the facility help children learn and play in a program that considers cultural differences, developmental capabilities and educational opportunities.

The center received $117,000 from the Child Care Access Means Parents in School grant of the U.S. Department of Education to provide child care tuition assistance for low-income students.
