NIH administrator to speak Jan. 29 on grant-funding process

(Jan. 27, 2003)--The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Sciences will host a presentation by Greg Milman of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29 in Biosciences Building Room 3.03.02 on the 1604 Campus.

Milman, who is director of the office for innovation and special programs, will discuss timelines and key personnel contacts who can assist researchers in preparing an NIH grant application.

Among those contacts are program and grants management staff and scientific review administrators who assist in the review process regarding specific research areas, and administrative and budget issues.

The informal presentation, which is open to faculty member and other researchers, will include discussion of the funding process from concept development to NIH notice-of-award. Audience questions will be accepted during and after the presentation.
