(July 10, 2003)--The San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAF) recently presented annual scholarship awards to more than 270 Bexar County graduates at a ceremony hosted by UTSA at the Downtown Campus Durango Building Southwest Room.

"I congratulate all students this evening for achieving great success in your academic careers," said Romo, a former student at San Antonio's Fox Tech High School. "Education, particularly in the knowledge-based economy of the 21st Century, is the key that opens doors to a brighter future."

SAAF, a public, nonprofit philanthropic organization, has awarded more than $65 million in grants since its inception in 1964.
