Construction begins on new campus dining service areas
(July 29, 2003)--Beginning this week, all UTSA food service areas will undergo renovations as the university prepares to roll out a new concept and new menus for campus dining.
Starting Aug. 1, the University Food Service will be operated by Chartwells College & University Dining Services. Chartwells will bring a new look and taste to UTSA's dining options, and new attention to customer service.
"We'll be offering a variety of venues according to campus needs and interests," said Corinne Vela-Zapata, director of business services.
The John Peace Library Building food court (1604 Campus) will be open for limited service during construction, which is expected to begin Aug. 1 and be completed by Aug. 18. The hours will be 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Friday.
The Radisson Hotel is extending the hours of its Downtown Campus snack bar, located across from the food court. It's open 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m-1:30 p.m., Friday. The Downtown Campus food court is expected to reopen for full service Aug. 11.
