UTSA Downtown Campus volunteers at Texas Folklife Festival 2002
UTSA's Texas Folklife Festival 2003 seeks volunteers
(March 14, 2003)--The 32nd Annual Texas Folklife Festival, June 5-8, is seeking volunteers, and we need you!
The festival is held at UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures in Downtown San Antonio. This year's theme is "BYOC - Bring Your Own Culture."
Volunteers are needed in various areas of the festival to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for visitors to the event.
Volunteering at the festival is a great way to meet new people, show your community spirit, have fun, listen to great music and enjoy fantastic food. Becoming a volunteer also entitles you to free admission for all four days of the festival. Company and group volunteers can benefit as well because of the opportunity for community service and teamwork.
Each volunteer attends a training session for information on job descriptions, check-in procedures, rules and guidelines, credentials and a wristband for free admission.
To become a volunteer, download an application form, call the Texas Folklife Festival Volunteer hotline at (210) 458-2216 or send an e-mail. There is no deadline to apply.
The Institute of Texan Cultures, one of the three campuses of The University of Texas at San Antonio, is an educational center concerned with the history and diverse cultures of Texas.
For more information, call (210) 458-2216 or visit the Texas Folklife Festival Web site.
