UTSA withdrawal policy accommodates students in military
(March 6, 2003)--In response to the possibility that UTSA students may be required to withdraw from the university to fulfill military or other emergency service obligations, the UTSA Office of Student Affairs reminds the UTSA community of the emergency withdrawal policy established after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The guidelines apply to students withdrawing due to military or emergency service obligations, or partners or spouses of those being deployed.
While some students may be able to withdraw following routine UTSA processes, the university is prepared for special handling of withdrawals due to short notice given to those deployed.

Rosalie Ambrosino, vice president for student affairs, said, "We want to ensure that UTSA faculty and staff are aware of this ongoing policy and share these withdrawal guidelines with their students. We have received some questions and want to remind everyone of the existing policy."
"It is important that everyone at UTSA be supportive and flexible with students who may be affected, and to provide timely services," said Guy Bailey, UTSA provost and vice president for academic affairs.
