Applicants must submit two faculty recommendations with application and complete a Criminal Background Check.

Applications may be submitted at any time. Updates to Private Tutor list will be done monthly and posted on the website. In order to keep the private tutor list current, all private tutor listings will expire August 1 each year. If you wish to maintain your listing, a new application must be submitted no later than August 15th.

General procedure for facilitating students and private tutors.

  1. Students in need of tutors contact the Tomás Rivera Center or consult our website where the list of private tutors is available.
  2. The student contacts the tutor. The student and the tutor agree on a meeting place and a rate of pay. The TRC suggests that tutors and students meet on campus for saftey reasons, but all negotiations are between the tutor and the student. THE TRC ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILTY OR LIABILITY FOR PRIVATE TUTORING.

Under Sections 552.021 and 552.023 of the Texas Government Code, you are entitled to receive and review this information. Under Section 559.004 of the Texas Government Code, you are entitled to have U.T. San Antonio correct information about you that is held by us and that is incorrect, in accordance with the procedures set forth in the University of Texas System Business Procedures Memorandum 32. The information that U.T. San Antonio collects will be retained and maintained as required by Texas records retention laws(Section 441.180 et seq. of the Texas Government Code) and rules. Different types of information are kept for different periods of time.
