Upward Bound (UB) is a college preparatory program for high school students funded by the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored locally by the University of Texas at San Antonio. UB is specifically designed to strengthen the academic skills of eligible high school students and prepare them to enter college and graduate with baccalaureate degrees. The UB program of UTSA serves approximately 135 students in grades 9th-12th at John Jay, Oliver Wendell Holmes, and Southside in San Antonio.
