Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics
The minimum semester credit hours for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics is 120, at least 39 of which must be at the upper-division level.
All candidates seeking this degree must fulfill the Core Curriculum requirements and the degree requirements, which are listed below.
Core Curriculum requirements: Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics must fulfill University Core Curriculum requirements in the same manner as other students. The courses listed in the table below satisfy both degree requirements and Core Curriculum requirements; however, if these courses are taken to satisfy both requirements, then students will need to take additional courses in order to meet the minimum number of semester credit hours required for this degree. 12 semester credit hours of social science electives selected from American studies (AMS), anthropology (ANT), bicultural-bilingual studies (BBL), criminal justice (CRJ), geography (GRG), history (HIS), political science (POL), psychology (PSY), or sociology (SOC).
- 30 additional credit hours which ensures that at least 39 semester credit hours of upper-division credit are earned.
