Office of Public Affairs

About Us

The UTSA Office of Public Affairs is the part of Office of University Communications responsible for working with the news media. Public Affairs staff members work with local, regional, statewide and national news reporters from print, electronic and online publications and education trade publications.

Public Affairs staff tell the UTSA story after gathering details of the work being done by students, faculty and staff on the three UTSA campuses. Public Affairs staff members gather the essential “who, what, where, when, why and how” details, write a news story and then contact reporters. In the Public Affairs department, reporters are the primary conduit whereby UTSA stories reach external audiences. Public Affairs staff work with news reporters every day, suggesting UTSA story ideas.

Public Affairs also gathers and communicates UTSA news for internal audiences. We are always looking for good story ideas. If you have something you think would be of interest to the larger community, contact Public Affairs at (210) 458-4550 or e-mail news@utsa.edu.
