Greetings from the President

Dear Friend,
Summer has been a busy time at UTSA. Approximately 10,400 students are taking summer classes, and outreach and research programs are in full swing. More than 4,000 students registered for orientation programs.

At the 1604 Campus, the Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building will open in December, just in time for the spring semester. I recently toured the new Chaparral Village Roadrunner Café, which opens next month for our students. The new dining facility will help take campus life to the next level. And, students will welcome the opening this fall of the new 630-car parking garage.

At the Downtown Campus, the recently acquired Monterey Building is under renovation to provide new classrooms, labs and offices.

I encourage you to visit our campuses to see the new facilities that will help us reach our goal of premier research university status.

Ricardo Romo
President,
The University of Texas at San Antonio
