Certification Office

The UTSA Veterans Certification Office proudly serves over 1800 service members, veterans and their families. Our mission is to serve our students in the most effective and efficient way possible so they may achieve their educational goals. We welcome you and thank you for your service and your support of our current and former service members.

What we do for you in the Veterans Certification Office:

• Ensure eligible UTSA students receive their Federal educational benefits

• Send Certification of Enrollment to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on behalf of the student

• Act as a liaison for the UTSA Student Veteran Association (SVA) on campus

We have 4 full-time VA Certifying Officials at both the Main and Downtown campuses to assist you.
      Certifying Officials work for UTSA-- not the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.


UTSA certifies more Veterans & their family members utilizing their educational benefits than any other University in the State of Texas.

VetSuccess on Campus

The VetSuccess on Campus program (view flyer--PDF) is a collaborative effort between The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with the purpose of providing a supportive on-campus environment for student veterans. VA has placed two full-time Vocational Counselors on the UTSA Campus to assist Veterans, active duty military and their eligible family members who attend or plan to attend UTSA.
