Tomas Rivera
Tomas Rivera was a scholar and author. At UTSA, he served as one of the first Deans. The Center for Student Success is named in his honor.
John Peace
John Peace was the chairman of the University of Texas Board of Regents when UTSA was founded. He was a major influence in the creation of our university. Also, he donated his personal collection of books to the university to help start the library. To this day, the library bears his name.
ONeil Ford
ONeil Ford was the architect who designed the campus at UTSA. He also designed the Tower of the Americas and the campus of Trinity University. Theres a road on campus named after him.
Bartlett Cocke
Bartlett Cocke was the general contractor who built the first phase of construction at UTSA. Theres a road named after him on campus.
George Brackenridge
George Brackenridge was one of San Antonios greatest philanthropists. He started one of the citys first financial institutions, the city water system and supported public schools. Theres a road on campus named after him.
Rhoderick Key
Rhoderick Key was the dean of the College of Fine Arts and Humanities in the late 80s and early 90s. He died of a severe heart attack. The road leading to the Fine Arts Building is named after him.
Margaret Tobin, Edward Ximenes, Walter Brennan, Fred Cook, Thomas Devine, James Bauerle
All of these people served on the University of Texas Board of Regents during the time UTSA was founded or built. There are roads on campus named after each of them.
