Checking Accessibility using Jaws (PESO)
Learn how to use a screen-reader. Representatives from the Texas Commission for the Blind will demonstrate how to navigate and test Web pages using the JAWS screen reader.
The Austin event will be held Wednesday (11/19/03) morning and is sponsored by the Public Electronic Services On-the-Internet (PESO) Working Group (http://www.dir.state.tx.us/peso/).

Root for Microsoft and a Plug-in Update
The fate of Web plug-ins and thousands of Web sites are at stake as the US Patent office reconsiders the EOLAS Patent http://apnews.excite.com/article/20031112/D7UP8FP82.html, which could criple plug-ins such as Flash, Quicktime, PDF and much more.
Correction - Percent of campus computers that support the following plug-ins*:
- Flash: 20%
- QuickTime: 90%
- Real Player 90%
