A creative legacy since 1851

A Historic Place for the Next Generation of Artists

At UT San Antonio's Southwest Campus, young artists can explore their creativity in a place shaped by generations of learning and art. The site began as Ursuline Academy in 1851 and later became home to the Southwest Craft Center and Southwest School of Art. Today, UT San Antonio continues that tradition through community art education.

From introductory art experiences to more focused teen studio programs, our youth offerings invite children and teens to experiment with materials, build skills, and connect with creative peers.
