About the Job Duties

  • You get Marketing
    Serve as the resident expert on all things Salesforce Marketing Cloud, a premium platform for marketers with enterprise-level email building, marketing automations, drip campaigns, data management and more!
  • You know Technology
    Provide technical oversight to ensure stability and integrity of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud system, including system configurations, security roles, permissions, user accounts and managing shared assets, lists and templates that are used by child accounts (business units). Support also includes monitoring new release schedule for Marketing Cloud, troubleshooting and applying new features, upgrades, and patches.
  • You Care About Data
    Review data quality reports and conduct data clean-up to ensure integrity and cleanliness of subscriber data.
  • You Like to Teach Others
    Assist in onboarding and training of users of the Marketing Cloud platform. Additionally, create and maintain “how-to guides” documentation for users to reference.
  • Support UTSA's Enrollment Mission
    Support UTSA’s use of Marketing Cloud to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of key business operations, especially in areas of recruitment, admission, enrollment services, marketing and communications.
The Day-to-Day
Your day-to-day will focus on executing various communications activites on the Marketing Cloud system, including:
  • Creating and testing emails using dynamic content within Email Studio, which is used to craft personalized messages to students
  • Creating, testing and maintaining automations within Automation Studio, which is used to import various data and automatically trigger email sends.
  • Creating, testing and maintaining email journeys within Journey Builder, which is used to nurture students through the admission process
  • Conducting A/B testing within Email Studio
  • Creating and maintain email templates
  • Create reports within Analytics Studio to measure the performance of the various communication activities on Marketing Cloud
  • Creating and filtering subscriber data into data extensions for targeted marketing campaign
  • Collaborate with the team to bring targeted marketing campaigns to life

The Must Haves

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience building or administering a Marketing Automation Tool (Preferred if the experience is with Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Expertise in email marketing and marketing automations principles
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS for email building and familiarity with scripting languages and basic programming concepts (Marketing Cloud uses AmpScript and SQL)
