Vamos a Votar - Let's Vote! Juntos we can!
October 4 | 12 pm - 1 pm | UTSA H-E-B Student Union 1.102 - Bexar Room
The UTSA Libraries will be hosting a panel discussion on Latiné/x-centric voting and voting rights! Come hear from Rogelio Sáenz, Professor of Demography (whose research focuses on Sociology of Latina/os, Immigration, and Social justice and human rights, among other things); Matthew Baiza, Texas Organizing Director of NextGen (the nation’s largest youth voting organization); and a UTSA student activist on why you should vote and how you can register and get more information before this November's elections! The panel will be in the Bexar room in the HEB Student Union building, and NextGen will have a registration table outside it so anyone who hasn't registered to vote yet can do so right there! Remember, the voting registration deadline for Texas is October 11th, and there is more than one election happening in November! Your vote can affect anything from local city works projects, like fixing potholes on the streets, to social assistance programs, to who will represent your neighborhood in Congress, so don't miss out!
