Institute of Texan Cultures

The Institute of Texan Cultures serves as the state’s center for multicultural education by investigating Texas's ethnic and cultural history and offerings exhibits, programs, and special events designed to entertain, inspire, and educate; outreach programs to schools and other groups; and teacher-training workshops.

Ombuds Office

The University Ombuds is a neutral individual who listens to complaints and grievances and provides conflict-resolution services for all faculty, staff, and student employees in a safe and welcoming environment. Communications with the Ombuds remain strictly confidential unless the visitor grants express permission to do otherwise or the Ombuds is required to disclose based on applicable University policy, legal considerations, or a perceived imminent risk of harm to self or others.

Women's Institute

The Women's Studies Institute functions as a student-center and community outreach institute. We are the home for one of Texas's newest majors in Women's Studies. The Institute seeks to forge working relationships with the larger San Antonio community, particularly on issues relating to women's leadership in the 21st Century.

Student Assistance Services

Student Assistance Services serves as a central hub and collaborative resource to assist students with navigating academic and non-academic matters related to their enrollment to help them bring closure or resolution to their situation or circumstances and support their progress to degree completion and personal and professional development.

Student Assistance Services promotes a student-centric approach and culture of care when providing services within a framework of informality, neutrality, independence and confidentiality (with some exceptions).

Student Center for Community Engagement and Inclusion

The Student Center for Community Engagement and Inclusion helps all members of the university community to explore issues relating to culture, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, sexual identity, and other topics. It also connects UTSA students to social justice volunteer activities.

Student Activities helps students and student organizations get involved with the UTSA community through campus-wide events, traditions, workshops, training, and development opportunities to prepare for future success. There are approximately 360 student organizations, and about one-third of them identify as cultural organizations.

Dreamers Resource Center

The Dreamers Resource Center supports the university’s DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipients and other undocumented students. The center also provides ally training and general information sessions for faculty, staff, and students.
