Committing to Inclusive Excellence
UTSA is hosting its first Inclusive Excellence Leadership Symposium on February 24-26, 2020. This symposium is a learning, training, and professional development event that will offer sessions tailored for faculty, staff, and students that are designed to equip them with resources and tools to continue advancing the work of equity and inclusion on our campus. Marking the first anniversary of the Office of the Vice President for Inclusive Excellence, we are promoting the theme of Committing to Inclusive Excellence. UTSA is committed to promoting an environment where people from all backgrounds, and diverse points of view can engage, learn and thrive. To advance this goal, we ask that you also commit to inclusive excellence and join us during this symposium to gain knowledge and skills to promote diversity and inclusion in your everyday life.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Damon A. Williams, a renowned leader and scholar in the inclusive excellence field, will be joining us as a speaker and trainer for this event. He is a global thought leader having worked with more than 1,000 colleges and universities, Fortune 100 companies, foundations, and government agencies, as keynote speaker, strategist, educator, and social impact leader. Dr. Williams is the Chief Catalyst of the Center for Strategic Diversity Leadership & Social Innovation and will be bringing other experts on his team to help conduct the workshops on diversity and inclusion topics at this symposium.
Registration for the Inclusive Excellence Leadership Symposium will open in January 2020.
This event is for UTSA faculty, staff and students. It is voluntary and at no cost. Seats are limited. There will be sessions conducted on both the Main Campus and Downtown Campus.
