This program offers current and future educators opportunities to deeply engage with modern astronomy, a science that captures the imagination and serves as a gateway to STEM learning. Topics and classroom activities that participants will explore include our solar system, stars, galaxies, dark matter, exo-planets, optics, and the future of astronomy. The academy includes a 3-day workshop adventure under the dark skies of the UT McDonald Observatory near Fort Davis, TX, as well as field trips to local institutions.
