UTSA Campus Recreation's Personal Training Program offers you certified personal trainers who can design a comprehensive exercise program specifically for you. By assessing your fitness goals, our trainers can create a personalized workout plan, teach you hot to properly perform resistance and cardiovascular training exercises and keep you motivated. Whether you are new to fitness, training for a marathon or just need to step up your current workout regime, our trainers can help. We also offer full fitness assessments and body composition assessments. Email personaltraining@utsa.edu for any questions or to register for a fitness assessment.

How do I sign up for a personal trainer?

Fill out the Personal Training Registration Packet.Print it out and bring to the Membership Services Desk at Campus Recreation. You will pay for your personal training package of choice when you submit your forms.

Or, you can visit our Membership Services Desk during normal working hours to fill out paperwork and pay for your personal training package of choice. If you want Share-A-Trainer or Small Group Training, then all members must register and pay at the same time. If you only want a free fitness assessment, then you need to fill out paperwork.

Within 3 business days of registering, you will be contacted to set up your first session.

All packages come with a free fitness assessment. Only Campus Recreation members are allowed to register for personal training sessions.

What is the difference between Share-A-Trainer and Small Group Training?

Share-A-Trainer is you and your friend, and it must be the same two (2) people getting trained for the length of the package of sessions purchased. Small Group Training is four (4) to six (6) friends all training together at a reduced rate per person.

FAQ

Cancelling a personal training session

  • In order to cancel a personal training session, you need to contact your personal trainer directly. Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise that session is forfeited. Please call your personal trainer to cancel or reschedule.

Refund Policy

  • Refunds are only granted where there is a documented medical condition that precludes completion of the personal training program. If a refund is warranted, it is pro-rated based upon the number of sessions completed up to that point, and will include a $15 processing fee. Refunds of less than $15 will not be granted.

Body Composition Assessments

  • Campus Recreation provides FREE body fat testing every Tuesday & Wednesday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm in the Core are on the second floor of the rec center.
