How long should it take for my transcript request to be processed?
Transcript requests submitted via the online transcript request system are sent approximately 1-2 business days from the date of the online request. If the electronic eSCRIP-SAFE secure network option is chosen, transcripts are sent instantly. Transcripts will be mailed or emailed (depending on option chosen) directly and may not be picked up at the Enrollment Services Centers
What should I do if I want to request a transcript to be sent after graduation when my degree is posted?
Enter your request approximately six weeks after the end of the semester of graduation. If you submit your request earlier than this, your degree will not be displayed on your transcript. To verify whether your degree has been posted, click on "View Unofficial Transcript" while in the Student Records area of ASAP. Can I obtain a transcript if I have a hold?
No. Transcripts are not generated for students whose holds involve a financial obligation or some judicial issues. To expedite the process, clear holds prior to submitting a request.
Is a fee charged at the time of requesting transcripts?
No additional fee is required. The Records Processing Charge assessed to enrolled students each semester covers the cost of processing transcripts for current and former students.
Can I request transcripts through the online system and then pick them up later in person?
No, you cannot submit a request to pick up transcripts via the online system.
What are the procedures for picking up a transcript on campus?
Transcripts can be picked up by students at the Enrollment Services Centers in the John Peace Library Building at the Main Campus or in the Frio Street Building at the Downtown Campus during normal business hours. Photo identification is required for transcripts picked up in person. Please be aware that transcripts can be printed "on the spot" except during heavy traffic periods which include the week before classes start, the first week of classes, and the entire month of August. During these peak times, transcripts are processed on a 3-day turnaround time.
Can my transcript be sent by fax?
No. Transcripts are mailed, sent electronically to other universities that are electronic transcript trading partners with UTSA, or emailed using the electronic eSCRIP-SAFE secure network.
