Sensory Processing

Listening to your favorite song, talking to a friend, and enjoying a meal are all possible because of our senses. The nervous system allows us to detect external stimuli, process the significance of those stimuli, and engage in appropriate actions. Our researchers utilize electrophysiological recordings from brain slices, in vivo Ca2+ imaging, and EEG recordings in humans to examine the neural signals involved with sensory processing, cognition, and language.
