Nine senior and graduate students from the College of Architecture traveled to Japan last summer for a program that explored both traditional and contemporary architecture. The group, including Taeg Nishimoto, associate dean for research, outreach and graduate studies, travelled to the cities of Tokyo, Nikko, Sendai, Yokohama, Ise, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, and finally San Antonio’s sister city of Kumamoto. In Kumamoto, they visited Kumamoto University's Department of Architecture and were officially received by the mayor in the city hall.
