Student Loan Debt to First Year Earnings

Median of individual student loan debt as a percentage of median first year earnings for first-time-in-college students who were awarded a certificate or bachelor's degree in a given year from UTSA. To be included in the calculation, the individual must have student loan debt at the time the degree was awarded and wages in first year following the award.

Median debt includes all loans reported by any institution that the student attended in the last 15 years (Coordinating Board financial aid database (FADS)). Debt includes Parent PLUS loans (unsubsidized loans for the parents of dependent students).

First year earnings are based on wage data reported to the Texas Workforce Commission.
