Strategic Plan Midpoint Update (Fall 2022)

Since its initial formation in 2008, UTSA’s Behavioral Intervention Team has modeled national best practices as a proactive campus resource to support the health and safety of students, employees, and visitors. Recent strategic investments, including the hiring a BIT Specialist and a Case Manager, have enabled UTSA to expand its support to meet increasing community demands. Increased staff resources, expanded training, improved operational efficiency, and resources such as a revamped website and the “Orange Folder” have raised the visibility of the BIT and strengthened its ability to keep UTSA safe.

While these strategic investments have been fully operationalized, UTSA’s commitment to supporting the health and safety of the community remains ongoing in perpetuity. The BIT will continue to evolve in its operations to adopt new approaches and develop innovative solutions to meet future and current needs.
