(Oct. 9, 2014) -- The University of Texas at San Antonio will celebrate its annual Homecoming Week with a slate of free, public events and contests promoting university traditions from Sunday, Oct. 5 through Saturday, Oct. 26. This year's theme is "Turn the Page."

Since 1985, UTSA Homecoming  has given Roadrunners past and present the opportunity to celebrate UTSA's growth, connect with other UTSA supporters and take part in time-honored traditions.

Homecoming highlights include:

  • 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7: National Night Out -- The UTSA Police Department will host its fifth annual National Night Out at the University Center Paseo on the Main Campus. The event will include free food, beverages, information booths and a variety of activities including a live band and kids' corner. Police department staff will collect new and gently used books to donate to the S.A. Reads book bank.
  • 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7: Roadrunners Live -- UTSA's campuswide talent show will be in the Convocation Center on the Main Campus. Since 2011, the event has given talented Roadrunners on campus the opportunity to show off their talents and abilities in a display of school spirit. Teams and individual acts will compete to win the title of this year's Roadrunners Live Champions.
  • 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 8: Comedy Night with Dormtainment (Content advisory: For mature audiences) -- In collaboration with UTSA Housing and Residence Life and the UTSA Black Student Union, UCPrograms will host a special comedy show by YouTube sensation Dormtainment in the H-E-B University Center Ballroom (1.104) on the Main Campus.
  • 4:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10: Rowdy Rally -- The pre-game pep rally will give the Roadrunners football team a spirited send-off as the team gathers at the Convocation Center on the Main Campus before the Saturday game against FIU.
  • 4:30-10:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10: BestFest -- Celebrating its 36th year, the event will be at the Convocation Center parking lot BK1 on the Main Campus. The 2014 theme, "UTSA's Bestsellers," will salute all of the bestselling items sold at major Texas festivals and fairs.
  • 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10: Rowdy Rampage Fireworks Spectacular and Golf Car Parade -- The public is invited to UTSA's ninth annual Rowdy Rampage at Convocation Center parking lot BK1 on the Main Campus. The event combines a pep rally, live music, a decorated golf cart parade and a fireworks shos for the community to enjoy.
  • Saturday, Oct. 11: Homecoming Game Day – A full day of festivities will mark the Roadrunners' big game against FIU. The UTSA community is invited to the Alamodome and the historic Sunset Station, renamed Roadrunner Station during the UTSA home football games, for family-friendly events including tailgating, the Sprit Walk (3:30 p.m.) and the Roadrunners football game at 6 p.m. For a complete list of events, traditions and history, visit the UTSA Homecoming website.
