UTSA to hold food drive Nov. 29 before North Texas game at Alamodome
(Nov. 27, 2014) --UTSA will hold a food drive sponsored by Whataburger before the North Texas football game scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Alamodome. All food items and monetary donations will be given to the San Antonio Food Bank.
Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to drop in donation bins that will be located in Rowdy Town in the North Plaza outside the Alamodome before the Roadrunners' last home contest of the season. Monetary donations also are encouraged and accepted.
Anyone who donates at least two non-perishable food items or makes a monetary donation will receive one coupon for a free Whataburger, while supplies last.
According to the San Antonio Food Bank, nearly one of every four children and one of every five adults in Southwest Texas lives in poverty and has difficulty meeting basic nutritional needs. Sixty-five percent of the people requesting emergency food have children. UTSA and Whataburger are proud to serve this cause and encourage fans to donate to help those in need.
