Nominations for University Excellence Awards accepted through Feb. 13
(Feb. 6, 2015) -- UTSA faculty and staff have more time to make their nominations for the 2015 University Excellence Awards.
The nominations period has been extended to Feb. 13. The awards ceremony, which recognizes exceptional service by UTSA faculty and staff, is scheduled for April 16.
UTSA President Ricardo Romo is encouraging faculty and staff members to nominate their colleagues for the awards.
"Our most valuable asset at UTSA is our people, and we are on our way to becoming a Tier One university, thanks to the endless hours of dedication from our employees," said Romo. "It is important that we take the time to recognize and honor those who make success happen. I encourage you to take the time to nominate your colleagues for the University Excellence Awards."
Faculty and staff may be nominated for the following awards:
- The Rising Star Award
- The Leadership Award
- The Team Spirit Award
- The Extra Mile Award
- The Order of the Roadrunner Award
- Richard S. Howe Excellence in Service to Undergraduate Students Award*
- President's Distinguished Diversity Award
The recipients of each award will be presented with a check for up to $1,000 and a plaque at the ceremony on April 16, 2015.
*The recipient of the Howe Award will be presented with a $2,000 check.
Supervisors are asked to provide a printed copy of the forms to employees who do not have access to a UTSA personal computer.
At that April 16 awards ceremony, the recipients of the awards listed above will be recognized as well as the recipients of the President's Distinguished Achievement Awards for faculty members. Additionally, UTSA employees who have reached milestones in their length of service with the university and the UT System and retirees from the previous calendar year will be recognized.
