Int'l Trade Center hosts The Global Connect: Texas Trade Finance Seminar Feb. 20

(Feb. 19, 2015) -The International Trade Center, a small business development center in the UTSA Institute for Economic Development, is partnering with the Department of Commerce, U.S. Export-Import Bank, Finance, Credit & International Business Association (FCIB) and a coalition of business, trade and educational organizations to host The Global Connect: Texas Trade Finance Seminar from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 in the Durango Building Southwest Room (DB 1.224) at the UTSA Downtown Campus.

The seminar brings together experts from the public and private sectors to discuss the resources available to U.S. exporters, especially small and medium-sized companies, for their financing needs. This seminar also supports U.S. Hispanic- and other minority-owned business enterprises in global markets.

Keynote speakers include U.S. Export-Import Bank First Vice President and Vice Chair Wanda Felton, the second highest ranking official of the U.S. Export-Import Bank, U.S. Commerce Deputy Assistant Secretary for Services Ted Dean, who leads the Department’s efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the U.S. services industries; and MBDA National Deputy Director Albert Shen, one of the highest ranking Asian American officials in the Obama administration.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Export-Import Bank, the seminar is sponsored by the UTSA International Trade Center, FCIB, NACM, the Texas Camino Real District Export Council, NASBITE International and the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
