(Feb. 27, 2015) --The UTSA Office of P-20 Initiatives is ready to set out to support college-bound South Texans at a series of Mobile Go Center events scheduled March 2-5.

The UTSA Mobile Go Center, a one-stop source of college knowledge, will visit various campuses and be staffed by Lara Crouch from the Office of P-20 Initiatives as well as representatives from the admissions and financial aid offices. The visits are designed to help prospective college students and their families complete financial aid forms and encourage them to sign up for an early college orientation.

“In an effort to provide more services to rural districts, we look forward to partnering with Brackett ISD this year to provide college access information. For the third year, we will return to Eagle Pass and Laredo United ISDs, where members representing the STEM Articulation Program at Laredo Community College will partner with us to assist Laredo students,” said Belinda Harmon , director of community outreach in the Office of P-20 Initiatives.

Scheduled high school visits include:

  • March 2- L.B. Johnson High School, Laredo
  • March 2-United South High School, Laredo
  • March 3-United High School, Laredo
  • March 3- J.B. Alexander High School, Laredo
  • March 4-C.C. Winn High School, Eagle Pass
  • March 4- Eagle Pass High School, Eagle Pass
  • March 5-Brackett High School, Brackettville

“The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application can be daunting, and it is especially important for first-generation college students to have assistance completing the form. We are pleased to be able to offer this support to schools and students from across South Texas as we aim to increase the number of students going to and graduating from college,” said, Joseph Kulhanek, Assistant Vice President for P-20 Initiatives.
