Global LEAD brings together an international group of educators, scholars, activists and community members to engage in conversation about the issues related to Latino education worldwide. The event is part of the yearly LEAD Summit.

The summit will begin with a welcome from UTSA President Ricardo Romo and opening remarks from U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro. At 9:45 a.m., a panel discussion, “Educating Global Citizens: A Conversation with Ministers of Education,” will feature representatives from five Latin American countries discussing issues related to education in Latin America.
