UTSA Faculty Center heralds a new semester for faculty development
(Sept. 17, 2015) -- UTSA students aren’t the only Roadrunners finding themselves very busy during these early days of the semester. Faculty are working hard to balance their fall schedules with new classes and research initiatives, making this the ideal time to brush up on services offered by the Faculty Center, the university’s central hub for faculty support and development.

This semester, the Faculty Center again has compiled a wide array of workshops on topics ranging from teaching to research to technology. The workshops are all designed specifically for UTSA faculty, and registration is now open.
The 4500+ square-foot Faculty Center facility, located on the fourth floor of the John Peace Library, features meeting rooms for six to 20 people and a collaborative digital studio. The center also includes a casual seating area where faculty can informally meet, work alone, or just relax with a complimentary cup of coffee. Next door is the Assembly Room, a presentation venue seating up to 120 people. Faculty can reserve Faculty Center meeting rooms and the Assembly Room via the Faculty Center website.
The Faculty Center also has a virtual presence with a robust website that many faculty use as their home page. A widely used feature of the site is the faculty knowledgebase, which provides answers to hundreds of faculty-related questions. In addition to faculty news and events, the website also features a resources page that compiles faculty links and information from across campus, including funding opportunities, teaching tools, library resources, research support, university policies, technology support, and event planning.
Open during the same hours as the John Peace Library, the Faculty Center is jointly run by the UTSA Libraries, UTSA Research and the Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Support.
