UTSA Photo of the Day: Exploring the inner life of veterans
(Oct. 12, 2015) — Part of the UTSA Main Gallery exhibit, “The Uncertainty of a Life in Security: Veterans Back Home,” these fatigues on a clothesline collect the stories of PTSD survivors. According to the artist, Regina Vasquez, who is also a veteran, the project helps the former soldiers regain empowerment and control by reinventing the uniforms they once wore. The exhibit explored the topic of security in veterans after returning home and features work some several former members of the U.S. military..
